About Lamplight:
Lamplight Fly and Feather was founded in 1973 by Tony Hill and was based in Alsea, Oregon until about 1995. It is currently located in far northern California in the beautiful Scott Valley, an agricultural region amidst the stunning scenery of Mount Shasta, the Marble Mountains, the Trinity Alps, and the Siskiyou Mountains. Wife Donna joined the firm full-time in January 2003. We incorporated as Lamplight Feather, Inc. in early 2007. We started our wholesale division in mid 2008. Our sales staff includes Ronda McEwen (Manager) and Lacey Stein. One or the other will generally be answering the phone.
In December of 2007 we purchased a new facility for the business, an historic building in downtown Fort Jones at 11903 Main Street. This building houses the sales office, warehouse, packing, shipping and receiving. The corporate office and bookkeeping remain at 130 Carlock Street, about 4 blocks away.
Lamplight Feather has been offering prime select decorative feathers since 1973 at such venues as the Oregon Country Fair where we have exhibited for 37 consecutive years. Lamplight has been offering decorative feathers on the internet since November 2002.
We feature peacock eyed feathers, peacock swords, pheasant tail feathers, ostrich feathers and ostrich plumes in dyed and natural, wing quills, feather plumage, strung rooster saddle hackle, schlappen feathers, coque (rooster tail) feathers, fluffy marabou, and other distinctive feathers. Peacock feathers are available in full length, short stalk. They can be natural, dyed from natural, bleached, or dyed over bleached. Ostrich feathers are available in standard and specialty lengths in natural, bleached, and dyed as are our ostrich wing plumes. We have a large variety of top quality pheasant tail feathers from the golden pheasant, lady amherst feasant, ringneck, and other pheasants. Recently added have been the spectacular reeves pheasant tail feathers that range up to five feet in length. Our strung feathers and loose plumage includes feather trim and fringe, saddle hackle, guinea, pheasant, marabou, schlappen, coque and others as well as feather pads.
Additional feather items include a wide range of feather boas in chandelle,ostrich, and marabou, feather fans, feather trim, feather birds, feather roses,feather masks, ornaments, and other items.
Red Hat Society members will find a variety hat feathers in appropriate colors as well as feather trim, strung hackle, and trim boas to create distinctive Red Hat outfits.
Tahitian, Polynesian, and Aztec dancers will find a variety of appropriate feathers for the creation of a colorful and authentic traditional dance costume.
School and theater productions can make use of feather boas, ostrich plumes, feather trim and other items for costume making.
Our millinery supply selection includes unusual items like stripped coque in addition to ostrich plumes, ostrich fringe, coque feathers, strung hackle and schlappen, feather birds, tippet pads, feather pads and other items for the creative milliner.
In addition to costume supply, floral supply, and millinery supply, our feather items serve as wide and varied clientele that includes: retail stores, designers, home decorators, event planners, theater groups, dance troupes, artists, crafts people, handbag makers, hat makers, mask makers, milliners, fly tyers and many others who enjoy our select quality, fair pricing, prompt shipping, and personal service.
